I have been in the field of behavioral health for over 15 years and have an extensive background in a variety of different therapeutic styles and treatment modalities. I graduated from Arizona State University and have a Bachelor Degree and Master Degree in Social Work. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC). I am licensed to practice psychotherapy by the State of Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the Association for Addiction Professionals, International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, and EMDR International Association. I have a special interest and expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) & Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) & Thought Field Therapy (TFT). I offer individual, couples, & group counseling for adolescents and adults. My office is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Fountain Hills, Arizona.
I take a collaborative approach in counseling, where client and therapist work together, using the strengths and experience of both to provide the necessary skills and tools for emotional health and relational well-being. My style of therapy focuses on helping individuals understand their fundamental instinctive reaction to their environment (people, places & things), through mindful awareness of emotions (mood & affect), thoughts (beliefs, images & memories), behaviors (what you say & do), and physiological factors (how your body responds). Understanding this natural-occurring process of how individuals interact within their environment lays the groundwork in creating life-long change.
